Emeralds for Elephants, the auction organised in aid of the World Land Trust’s Indian Elephant Corridor project, caused quite a storm in a very steamy Selfridges Wonder Room on the 23rd of June. Hosted by Mark Shand, Andrea Dellal and supported by the indian cricket player Yuvraj Singh Sotheby’s auctioned off the first elephant that have been seen all around London druing the parade. The Emerald Queen, a life-size elephant designed by Sabine Roemer using Gemfields Zambian emeralds, was sold to an anonymous bidder for a whopping £150,000!

London’s A-List Rocked Selfridges Concept Store to visit the Emerald Queen and ‘Emeralds for Elephants’ Exhibition
Today Florence Welch, Daisy Lowe, Pixie Geldof, Alice Dellal and Andrea Dellal rocked Selfridges Concept Store to visit the Emerald Queen and model the ‘Emeralds for Elephants’ collecion to support the World Land Trust.
The five celebrities modelled the collection with 448 carats of ethical Gemfields Zambian emeralds next to the ‘Emerald Queen’ elephant, made by Sabine Roemer, which features a staggering 678 carat Gemfields Zambian emerald expected to raise an additional £100,000 for the protection of wild Asian elephant habitat in India.
